Blar na Leisg is a small hotel near the tiny village of Drumbeg on the north coast of the Assynt peninsula in the rugged North West Scottish Highlands. High above Eddrachillis Bay with its wealth of islands, it stands in its own sheltered and secluded world of native woodland on the banks of Loch Ruighean an Aitinn, looking out over the waterlily-studded loch to the great western face of Quinag. With its informal creative atmosphere and stunning setting, Blar na Leisg offers guests a truly unique and enriching experience, a re-energising retreat, far from the clatter of the world.
Our aim
has been to create an environment which reflects pleasure in the art of living, in art, music and food, where the beauty of the surroundings and quality of the cuisine are exceeded only by the warmth of the welcome.
Assynt
is wild Scotland at its most intense and a wide range of habitat supports a rich and varied wildlife. It is an important part of the North West Highlands Geopark. Walkers are spoiled for choice, from gentle coastal and woodland walks to the more demanding mountain challenges of Suilven, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt. With an Atlantic coastline and over 200 lochs, Assynt is a fisherman’s paradise. Both loch fishing and sea angling can be arranged. Deer stalking is also available, in season.
